I can't believe I'm going to share this with you.....

and I'm not sure why I paint my toes like I do, because I think my feet are UGLY, but well, here's the results of my pedicure. I will goop them up and stick socks on my feet for bed and hopefully they will be softer in the morning.

Yes, I know, if you click on the photos, they may make it really large and you will see ALL the mistakes. Well YOU try and paint little flowers on your tiny toe nails and see how perfect it is when it's done free hand! So there!
The shiney shit around my nails? It's some of that "quick dry" crap that doesn't really seem to help much but I use it anyway. It's really greasy.
This brought back memories of when I used to do this kind of stuff all the time with acrylic paints and toothpicks. I did a scene once across my four finger nails of my left hand that looked like a jungle with parrots and everything. I did a large macaw on my thumb nail. Then I'd seal it with top coat and enjoy the ooohs and the ahhhs. I did red white and blue fireworks for the 4th and other things I'm sure. I think I just might have to start doing this again even if my piggies are mofuuuuuugly. Peace.

New Day

Today had it's ups and downs that's for sure. First, I slept really well last night, I think my whine post really helped with that. Second, I didn't exercise today like I was suposed to because I'm still pretty sore from the Tuesday. Tomorrow for sure. Third, I think I did ok on the Biology test but we'll know for sure on Monday. Fourth, I got some work done on my Unit for my curriculum class and that's my focus this weekend.

I actually cooked dinner tonight and I think my family ate it out of sheer awe, then we went downtown and parked by the Imagination Station playscape and walked the bridges to DQ and got ice cream. Then sat by the water and laughed at the silly birds, came home, and here I am. I feel guilty about the ice cream because I didn't work out this morning, though I did go for a 2.5 mile bike ride last night so it's not like I sat on my ass. Today? I sat on my ass. I have to do the production line bath/hair wash thing tonight because the two younger boys just have not got it down yet.

This is suposed to be a knitting blog right? Right? Crap, I supose I should mention one of my biggest lows today.... My sockapalooza sock that was well over half way up the foot? I had to frog it back to the toes. The pattern was beautiful but too loose. Her foot is three sizes smaller than mine and it was loose on me. So I'm just going to do a plain boring foot and something pretty on the ankle part. Circulars and toe up. No pattern now. *sigh* It was a sad sad 5 minutes. I also decided on the suggestion from a guy at work (someday I'm going to have to tell you all about Dennis, he's an interesting character) that I should boil a small chicken bone and put that on my shrunken head's nose instead of the rather too large earring/nose ring. I like that idea! A real bone would be the perfect shock value item wouldn't it?

I'm going to go play in the bath tub now and perhaps when I'm done I'll do a pedicure on me.... That sounds good doesn't it? My toes were hot pink, now they're grape purple, not sure what I want to do next. I love painting my toes! Ooooh, I wonder if I can find some acrylic paint... I could do daisies or something on my big toes! I've not done that in a long time. Ahhh, gotta go, I'm feeling a bit too chatty tonight. Peace.

Oh, and for those of you who care? HAPPY BLUE MOOOOOOOOON!

Thank you my dear friends, your words mean so much to me. I sometimes am taken by surprise with how much I need support and how hard it is to ask for. TSP Meg? I really enjoyed our talk today and I'm so glad you called, I needed it. Love ya girl! See you Sunday night.

Where I am right now

I posted this on my MySpace and thought I'd share it with you all here. This is how I've been feeling lately and I appologize for the swear words but they are meant with the full force that they offer.

I so hate my life right now. So much in fact that I'm having a hard time controling my anger and I'm not sleeping well and stress is going to give me a fucking heart attack or stroke yet. What the hell am I doing going to school? I'm so way over my head I feel like I'm the stupidest person on earth. I have a biology test tomorrow and I totally failed the end of the chapter quizes and it seems no matter how much I try to study the stuff I keep failing. I can't seem to get caught up in my other class and it's almost time to turn in the unit. I am not taking well to being an average student when I was an honor student at WCC.

Ok, yes, my personal life totally sucks (thanks a whole bunch Karl) and everytime I have something big to do like this the "issue" flairs up again. waaaa boo hooooo I have to make lunches for the kids, I have to read a book to my daughter, why do I have to do the bills..... waaaaaaahhhhhhhh. Because if you don't want to pay alimony to me you'd better help me pass my fucking classes that why!

And lets not get on to the subject of me getting a tattoo that I'm "going to regret later". Hells bells, if I've thought about it for 20 years and decided on what I wanted and where to put it on my body about 5 years ago I think I've put enough thought into it. God damn it, the instability I've felt all my life is back full force and I can NOT STAND IT. It makes me so fucking angry that I have to deal with this issue again. I hate change, I hate feeling like a failure, I hate when I can't put myself first because someone else feels put upon. I hate my life. It sucks.

I'm going to get this tattoo, I'm going to do what I have to to pass these classes and my family is just going to have to suffer through it also. It's so bad trying to study here that I'm seriously thinking about moving out for the summer, but what good would that do for my kids? Nothing, and they are second on my list right after me. I love those critters and would never do anything intentional to hurt them. Grrr, life sucks big rotten eggs and I want to throw them at other people. It's late and I have to try and get some sleep but do I want to crawl into bed? No, because not doubt someone 'needs to talk', which I swear is just a way of trying to make me suffer like he is, which is not nice or fair. I don't need this shit right now. Anyone have a box I can move into?

Edit: Just wanted to say that things always look better in the morning generally and today? They look better. Sorry for the major whine but sometimes I just feel like I'm ready to shatter into a million peices. (hug)

Does this mean anything?

See this culprit? All I wanted was an egg roll and I couldn'y find any scissors so I grabbed this rarely used, sharp because of that lack of use knife and proceeded to do this to my middle finger....
Good thing my nail was there. I'm procrastinating again by soaking my finger in epsom salt water because it felt like it was getting infected. So, it's said that the smarter the person is the less common sense they have... I must be getting smarter because this was one of my more stupid ideas... LOL and I knew it too but I wanted that damn eggroll! It was tasty, even 30 minutes later whwn I finally got my finger to stop bleeding enough so I could eat the eggroll. Humm wonder what else I can find to share so I can procrastinate more. I do promise it won't be gross again LOL.

Always find ways to procrastinate....

This was an earring I had, I lost the mate to it and I thought it would look nice on my shrunken head. I really want a bone but the ring will have to do until I find one I like.
This is the one I made for my car. I also would like a ring or a bone in it's nose also. I don't even notice him anymore now that he's hanging there LOL. Still, it was a fun knit.
This is the lesson plan unit I'm procrastinating working on at the moment. I went and spent 3 hours at the family picnic at Bishop Lake today working at a totally seperate table set away from everyone and finally just could not stand the idea that I was having to write everything down and I'd still have to come back and type it up. Well, my oldest wanted to go swimming really bad so I had Karl drive me home and he gathered up bathing suits and here I sit, type a bit of what I have to, procrastinate a bit here, type a bit more... you get the idea. It's getting done. And of course my hair is boring me again so I was thinking about growing it long again... then I looked up this photo and well....
I like it short still. Maybe this next time I will be able to get the girl I like the most (you think I've ever heard of appointments? LOL) and have her put highlights in it or something. It's just a backlash from not feeling any stability in my life right now, or something along those lines.
Well, it's back to the old plate tectonics again. Have a happy Memorial Day peeps. Peace.

intoxicated

I seem to find I like being intoxicated a bit too much lately. Wine, Lambrusco, life blood, and oh so yummy tasting liquid treat. I forgot to take photos of my recent knitting and I got the shrunken modified head for my rear-view mirror done and it's hanging right at this moment too! Now I can focus on my TSP for Jessica and the socks for my lovely sockapaloozapal.

Ok, I'm feeling a bit too intoxicated for this to be a real post and I'm going to go stumble off to my MP3 player and sit in my big red comfy chair and probably fall asleep. I do hope I have some yummy dreams.... LOL Peace.

Hellllllooooooooo there Pooh Bear!

Humm, Tigger? Where'd that come from? Oh who cares lol.

I think I'm going to start dubbing Thursday nights as knitting night. Karl starts his math class next Thursday so I can't work and I won't have another class or lab until Monday so I think I can spare ONE night a week to something I adore right? Right. Besides I do have a pair of socks that needs to get done LOL. I'm almost done with my third shrunken head, this one is one that I have adjusted and made smaller so I can hang it from my rear view mirror. Hopefully I made it small enough otherwise I'm tying it to my bag for school.

If I'm not too sore from exercising later I'll work on getting a photo or two up for you viewing pleasure, but for now? I'm sweaty and really stinky and need to take my shower so I'm not late for school. Peace!

Bittersweet

and I ain't talkin' chocolate, though I could use about 5 pounds of it right now. Today I have experienced the extremes of my personality and it wasn't fun.

The day started off with me screaming at the kids a lot because they weren't picking up and putting away their stuff and we were running out of time. Then I FINALLY get a shower and grandparents show up while I'm trying to paint my face. They all make a comment, seperately, as they came in about how nice the house looked, and not to me, they didn't know I could hear them. That made all the hard work worth while so I felt relief.

Everyone comes, eats yummy sloppy joes in shifts and we do the cakes, which the birthday kids frosted all by themselves,

ice cream and gifts. (Blue Moon ice cream teeth LOL)
Right before I go to work early to get this photo printed up I decided to check my email. My most favorite teacher I have ever had, Mr. David Thomas from WCC, emailed me to tell me he's retiring September 1st. Ok, now I'm down right sad as hell. I consider him my mentor. He always made me feel inspired and capable. I am so truly blessed to have had him as a teacher, there is no doubt about it. It's because of him and his class that I decided to teach earth science. It was an experience in his class that made me realize that I don't want to teach elementary, but older kids. *sigh* now I'm totally bummed again.
Then I go to work and feel total embarrassment about the photo. Do not ask why, I just did. I went on break and there was no one in the break room and all of a sudden I started crying. Finally I cry, but why did it have to be at work? Why did it have to happen tonight when I've had other opportunities that were better? PMS of course and I'm glad that something is finally coming to the surface that I've not disassociated from but work is a rough place to break down.
I'm now going to go wash my face and get dressed for bed, then I'm going to come back out here and drink some more wine and listen to my MP3 player. Maybe I will be able to cry again beacause my soul needs to be cleansed more. Night Peeps.

I'm going to "celebrate" it by telling you a joke I read in a Reader's Digest last night. Karl took it to work so I'm going to do the best I can to remember it.

A mom finally breaks down and buys a hamster for her kids they had been begging for, and soon, as she predicted she's feeding it, cleaning the cage, basically taking care of all it's needs. So one night at dinner she asked her kids why, if they weren't going to take care of the animal, did they want it? How many time would it have died if she hadn't been feeding it?

Her son looks up at her and says, "probably only once".

I love it! I hope I get students like that when I'm teaching. Anyway, made some progress on Jess' TSP and did an inch on the sockapalooza sock yesterday at school. No photos yet and I'm probably not going to get any because we're having a duel birthday party for the two youngest tomorrow and the house needs some serious attention. Though we made some progress on THAT also last night. I also did a lot of laundry the last two days.... humm... what? Am I channeling Martha Stewart or something? ROFL ewwwww *shiver* There's a scary thought.

Today I'm meeting Jess at Archies Coney Island across the highway here for lunch and then cleaning the house. Sounds like so much fun eh? THEN, oh the highlight of my whole freakin' day! Work.

Crap, I have to make a cake too..... and buy plates.... and, and, and.. someone poke me in the eye so I can spend the weekend in the hospital... ROFL peace.

movies

Last weekend I went to see this movie. It was halarious, I laughed so hard I almost cried. It's a must see, even if you wait for the DVD. There aren't any scenes in it that were made better by seeing it on the big screen. Just halarious.

I got done with my biology test a little while ago and now I have 2 hours until my next class... well less at this point. I forgot my MP3 player but (!) I did remember to bring my sockapalooza 4 socks with me. So in a bit I'm going to head off to find a comfy chair and knit. I'm not feeling to confident about the test and he asked questions I was totally unprepared for but next time should be better now that I know what they will be like.

Have a yarntastic day! Peace

I know, third post in one day....

Do. Not. Faint. This will be the last one for today.
Suz, the one who sent me the email of that letter down below, posted 7 random things about herself. I'm going to attempt to do that about me....

1. my eyes are two different colors, one's a bit more green than the other, which is more blue

2. I used to play the violin and now when I try I sound like a dying cat

3. I'll eat red, orange and yellow peppers but not green *shiver* yuck

4. I don't like eggs very much

5. I really want to learn to drive a semi, and one day I will

6. I like to mow the lawn with the riding mower because it reminds me of go-carts and I'm truly a speed freak. If I had no kids I'd race cars.

7. I'm good at giving massages.

Is that random enough? Tag yourself if you want to LOL. Peace

I could have written this letter!

Dear Kotex,

I recently noticed that the peel-off strip of my pantyliner had a bunch of "Kotex Tips for Life" on it. Annoying advice such as:
*Staying active during your period can relive cramps.
*Avoiding caffeine may help reduce cramps and headaches.
*Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day to keep you hydrated and feeling fresh.
*Try Kotex blah blah blah other products.

Obviously the individual behind this was someone who has never possessed a functioning set of ovaries. Go ahead and tell a menstruating woman that drinking 6-8 glasses of water will help keep her feeling fresh. Like we need more fluid inside our bloated bodies from hell......but go ahead.....I triple-dog-fuckin-dare-ya. See what happens and report back. I'll wait.

While you're at it, dump out the coffee at work and remove the chocolate from the vending machine. I garan-ass-tee you that the first responders will be females who just ovulated.

Staying active will relieve headaches and cramps.... Well, guess what - the only activities that interest me is eating...sleeping...bitching....or crying for no apparent reason...and oh....does ripping someone's head off count as a fuckin activity?????

Look, females don't need or want tips for living on their feminine hygiene products. Younger girls are already hearing "helpful" crap like that from elderly relatives. Veteran females have already concocted their own recipes for survivial, many containing alcohol and barbituates. Printing this crap advice while sneaking in ads for the brand that was already purchased is just plain annoying, not to mention rude, and is enough to send a girl running to the Always brand.

It's not a fun time, but DO NOT try to cheer us up by adding smiley faces or bunnies or flowery cutesy crap to your products or the packaging. Put the crap in a plain brown wrapper so we can throw it in our carts discreetly and have it blend in among the wine and beer. There is nothing more annoying than having a blinding pink package announcing your uterine state to everyone in the store.

Why don't ya just add an in-store microphone to the damn package and announce that......hellooooo, another female in the store is on the rag!!!! So take your tips for living and your cute bunnies and the smiley faces and shove them right up your ass!!

P.S. How about adding a free sample of Pamprin and maybe a shot of bourbon?

Thanks Suz!

Back to normal!

When I got home from school way earlier than normal we had no electricity. Then it came back on around 4 and with it was the cable! WooT!

Of course I've done nothing online I was suposed to and I'm still messing around but hey, I'll get to it. So happy days are here again! Well, you know, electronically. Peace!

Labels:

No internet

I have no internet/cable at home so I'm typing this up at school. I have no idea how long it will be before it's fixed. Had a pretty strong storm go through here yesterday evening and it obviously caused a lot of problems. My oldest doesn't have school today because his school is without power and down the street from us they have the road blocked because of downed power lines. Litter and debris all over the place and cold, it's 20 degrees colder today than yesterday, I'd like it a bit warmer.

Well I have an hour until my bio lab starts so I'm going to go get a Coke and head over there and knit a bit... well, after I read my lab. Work first, play second right? heee heee heee, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

I also wanted to share that my stomach actually hurts just a little today from doing some exercises this morning. How cool is that? I've been taking it kind of easy because I can't stand when my stomach gets too sore because it makes me feel like I have the stomach flu and I know NO one that has had a good experiences with that to make them want to feel that way. I'm not sure how the weight loss is going this week because I've actually done a bit of drinking and had a coney dog yesterday. I really hate PMS because it makes any will power I have go out the door on a vacation for a week. Is it fair? No, I want to go on vacation toooooo. *grump*

Have a good day peeps and I'll type more later when I get my cable back. Peace.

New Photos

I had my hair done darker this time because I'm afraid that the summer sun will fade it even quicker. And I got it cut even shorter, which I like, but a lot don't. Too bad eh? LOL Like I care. Anyway, thought I'd share my goofy smile with you all. Peace.

First day of classes and.....

What the hell did I get myself into? ROFL This is going to be tough. My prof for Biology is a frickin' riot! The dude makes everything come back to sex, seriously, and that makes him my kind of man! Though I believe he may have a partner and not a wife so I don't want any snarky comments ya hear? Dudes, he's old enough to be my dad, yuck. Lab is going to be so much more fun than Chemistry lab and this is after our first one being nothing but statistic math crap. Tomorrow is Bio Lecture and my other class, a curriculum class.

Christopher almost has all his hair and then I have to make the I-cord for the handle. I think he's going to be my cell phone or tissue holder and I'm going to hang him off my Born to Knit yellow messenger bag. Those shrunken heads are so easy to knit up that I think I'm going to have a hard time not making more, but how many do I really need? I have to stop for now though. Top Secret Project for Jess and socks. In between reading and doing lab reports???? Again, ROFLMAO at my own stupidity. This would be just as hard if my personal life wasn't so messed up so I can't blame that. Enough. I can do it. Peace.

Quick update before running off to class.

This is Christopher and what I got done last night and this morning. He's really shaping up nicely eh? Oh how I've giggled! I just love these shrunken head bags so much!!! I hope I can get him done today because I have an itchy idea that I'm going to be spending a tremendous amount of time reading a really huge, uncomfy in the lap, biology book. Have a great day and, ummm, keep your head.... LOL that was bad I know.
And this cutie patootie? It's her birthday! Five years ago I was in the hospital getting induced to evict her from her home. Boy the crap that has happened since her birth! A move, new schools, college, two different jobs, and a distroyed marriage. It never ceases to amaze me what can happen so quickly. She is the light of my life and her and her bro's just make it so worth going on for. Horray for offspring and siblings! Love. These. Kids! Peace dudes.

So I couldn't wait!

This is my new man in my life. Not only is he quiet and holds stuff for me but he was also knit from my stash. It was so easy and fun and wicked cool that I'm making a second one. Also with left over yarn.
The first one isn't named yet but this second one, the pasty white one? He's Christopher, as in Columbus. This is what SHOULD have happened..... Ok, anyway, Christopher is a bit smaller than the first one because he's a different weight yarn, same needles, same pattern from here. Classes start again tomorrow so there probably won't be a whole lot going on again. *sigh* Peace.

My lurking Sock Pal.....

That was a great message from you! I totally think that it was an acceptable question myself. So here, I will try to limit your choices some....

I'm not a great fan of orange and yellow by themselves, but love those colors with a healthy dose of red/pinks! I also love blue/green/purple mixes also. Ok, who am I kidding, I love color! Sorry if this isn't going to help you any LOL but I seriously am super easy to please. I don't have a heel preference and I have many seasons in which any fiber would be appropriate. *sigh* Maybe it would be easier if I was picker but I'm just not. Just the fact that someone is making me a pair of socks is enough to make me as giddy as a 2 year old doped up on Halloween candy.

Ok, here's something! Superwash is a really good way to go because I barely have enough time to handwash myself let alone a pair of socks! I've never had a pair made out of fixation. I usually don't wear shoes that show the tops of my feet but do wear clogs/slides once in a while, but usually sneakers or hiking boots are on my feet. They're much easier to walk around campus with ya know?

Anyway, despite the lack of guidance you are getting from me please know that I'm VERY serious about how easily pleased I am, open to anything, and will love what you make no matter what. Seriously, you're making me socks, socks that I don't have to make myself... it's so cool.

More photos, call the newspapers!

Is this seriously yummy yarn? I'll ask you again, is it not the greatest? ROFL I think so!
This is going to be my Pals socks for Sockapalooza 4! I'm seriously tempted to go buy another hank to make socks for me with it.
I've already done the toe and am starting up the foot. Two circular needles always seems to go quicker for me. I hope to get these done rather quickly even if I'm not suposed to send them off until August 2nd. They're just so bright and cheerful and the merino is so damn silky!
I love, love, love, love, love, the colors! And they might even be a bit brighter in real life than they are here but I think the photos do a pretty good job of it.
So, these socks and my TSP for Jess are my main focus now. I got into my chemistry class finally today so now I'm all set and done for my classes for Spring/Summer/Fall. Now to just get all my knitting done plus the gobs of homework that are coming my way LOL. Boy am I going to need to knit! Peace loves!

Stay in your chairs! Photos ahead!

I am totally obsessed with burning out my sinuses with these Peas. Holy Sheep Shit are they hot! But boy oh boy are they tastey! I wish I could eat 8 cans LOL.
First sock of the Rockin Sock Club kit #1. One more to go obviously, since most of us do have two feet eh?
My Catherine the Great poncho, see the neck? There's a hole for my head now! Isn't that cool?!? Yeah, supose so since I wish to wear it someday LOL. Tried to take a close up of the colors but they're still not showing up all that great.
And the yarn from the Sock Club kit #2. It's so soft and silky and I can't wait to move on to these socks but they're just going to have to wait. I have too many other things in front of it to even justify casting on for them. Thankfully there is no expiration date eh?
So that's what's been up here. Hope you all are enjoying warmer weather! Peace.
