Done ditty, done ditty, done done done!

The WAY cool shirt of the day! It glows in the dark even! I wonder if I like the Jolly Roger more than my kids....
Birthday boy Max doing his own cha-cha-cha's during the birthday song.
Seven! I remember his birth so well too. I got up to go to the bathroom one last time before I got an epidural and when I came back I sat on the top of his head because he was crowning already. Needless to say he was an unmedicated birth.

I got Meg's TSP #2 totally and absolutely done! Now Meg, when can we get together so I can get it out of my life, I mean gift it to you? LOL j/k, I'm so in-love with it that it will be hard to hand over! And here's another teaser for you all. It turned out so well despite the many mistakes that I will refrain from pointing out. It seems with the heat we've had already that I'm going to have to wait for the fall to see it used, but it will be worth it! Now I'm going to be OCD on Miranda's bolero and I got the yarn to do the baby version of it for my step-niece. Miranda picked out a bright fucsia for that one. Garrett, my oldest, picked out the pretty lavenderish pink of Megs TSP #2. I think my kids have grand taste in colors. Happy Wednesday to all and may it be filled with many yarn loops!

Happy Memorial Day!

Max's birthday went really well, we had a good time, he was over excited and it was just nice. The heat is making all of so cranky and my mom and I have been going at it at least once a day. I don't like the way she tries to parent my children like she parented me. I've made different choices in that area, argh! We went to the Memorial Day parade today and it was touching. I always forget what a fantastic high school band we have here. Anyway, there's a pond/creek that the town is built around and at the end of the short speeches they did a 21 gun salute and layed a beautiful floral wreath on the water. Then one of the vets played taps on his trumpet (and he was damn good too!) and I had to hold back the tears as the wreath floated serenly across the water. I don't agree with war, but I have the utmost respect for those who faught in them, especially when they were drafted and basically forced into it. Being a mother makes it more emotional also because I think of the mothers who have lost their kids. Well enough downers for now.....Ok, anyway, I'm done with Meg's TSP#2, all parts. All I need to do is shop tomorrow for little parts and it will be totally done and wrapped and hopefully delivered soon so: 1) I get to see Meg again which is always the #1 reason and 2) I can post an actual knitting photo! I started the toe of a sock and I'm trying to decide what to go OCD on next. So many things on the needles right now. Second sock syndrome, I have three second socks to make! THREE!!! Good Flying Spaghetti Monster can you believe that??? Moving on: I have all those christmas felted slippers I want to make, I have Garrett's sweater that will be Grant's because it will be too small by the time it's done, the Charlottes Easy Shawl (aka the cobweb) and my pink sweater and my Catherine the Great Poncho. Besides socks and socks and MORE SOCKS!!! heee heee haa ha ha haaaa haaaa! Man, do I want more knitting time in my life. Suz, I will download all the photos off the camera tomorrow and post some photos for just you, the rest of you, keep on knitting on! LOL Peace!

Whine, whine, whine, do you want some cheese with that?

I HAVE been knitting and knitting and knitting (...Suz, lol)! Meg's TSP #2 is almost complete except for about 2" and a notion gathering expedition. So that means no knitting photos until AFTER it's gifted. I've pretty much worked on nothing else finding myself becoming a bit OCD with it.

Tomorrow is my DS#3's 7th birthday. Max (from where the wild things are) is such an amazing kid, he's got a sense of humor that's truly a blessing. I'll post a photo of him tomorrow in all his glorious goofy birthday giddiness. I forgot to ask Meg of the TSP to come, and I didn't ask any friends to come, I'm such a slacker "drop the ball again" mom. Though later this week he will take one of his friends to a movie which will be fun. Sorrry Meg and Russ, I should have invited you all. Why didn't I remember to do that on Thursday when we were out to lunch? Maybe my brain thought it should go out to lunch also? geesh.

Anyway, I'll end this post with my feelings of "not good things to say to yourself" and hope that I have a photo or two to post tomorrow before Suz leads a mutiny! Knit On!

Self Portrait.....Wednesday??? Poetic...NOT.

Well, trying to show the purple but it still looks burgundy! I also tried to curl it with curlers and it looks kind of funny to me since it's usually straight as a stick. And the flash totally took the sunburn out of my face. Yes, I sat in the sun a bit too long knitting today, but I got piece A done for Meg's TSP #2 and now have piece B and C on the needles. Then it's on to piece D. It's the never ending project LOL. You know, the way the wind is blowing my hair and all I kind of look like Peg Bundy...now if I could only have a body like hers...

Anyway, one more sleeve to go on Miranda's bolero and the edging and that will be done. I purged my stash and my mom is going to give it to some ladies at her church for charity knitting and I organized the rest of it. It's so nice to see it organized but so sad to think that I have so many projects in a line up and many more patterns that don't have yarn *yet*. Soon there will be knitting photos so this will become more of a knitting blog again. :-)

Self Portrait Saturday.

Katherine the great with her "I wish it was more purple" hair color. Maybe I need to get a photo in direct sunlight. It really is much more purple than it shows with the burgundy sweatshirt.
Another Katharine the Great....at least the yarn is. Despite the fact that it's spelled wrong (lol) I just had to get it because, well, it had my name on it, literally. It reminds me of grapes on the vine and I'm just making a poncho out of it, plain garter stitch, increasing each side, every other row. Hence the little orange marker marking the "just knit" row. So there, two purple Kathe(a)rine the Greats for you, ROFLMAO. Keep Knittin' On!

A quick little note to Meg of the TSP Meg.

Tiger, Detroit Zoo. Isn't it just the best photo? He's probably wishing he could get to all those little "snacks" running around on the other side of the moat/fence.
You think I'm wicked for teasing you with a teeny tiny glimpse of your TSP #2?? LOL See the side bar, there at the right, way down at the bottom? You, my dearest of friends, get to be the recipient of some of that 42% evil because I know you will still love me. Besides I do remember you saying you are knitting me something and I have a LOT longer to wait if it's going to be a Christmas gift or a birthday gift SINCE THEY ARE TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS!!!! LOL Yeah, lets talk about who's evil girlfriend! LOL I'll have waited almost a year, while you get to wait two months. Two months of being blissfully distracted by your ever growing goddess tummy and upcoming birth! Besides, as I've said before, it's just so very much fun to tease you. Love ya girl!

Ummm, happy mother's day...?

Look at the content kitty in the open window! LOL Albert has grown so much hasn't he? I so love this cat. Okay on to some teasing and Mother's Day gifts.
The pretty foam flowers are from Grant that he gave me at his Mother's Day Tea the Thursday before Mother's Day. Each kid wrote their mom a letter that was framed and presented to us after they read it out loud. Boy oh boy was I close to tears by the time he was done. Man I love that kid! The awesome tree bracelet came from my DH along with a cool tee shirt that says "Go Away.... I'm Knitting", with a cat in the middle playing with a ball of yarn. It's hanging up downstairs drying so no photo of it yet but I'll get one soon. It came from cafepress.com. I got a 3X because I like my shirts long and it's HUGE! The 4X must be wonderfully big!
This pretty bracelet was made by Garrett and will be the last Mother's Day gift he makes me in school since he's heading for middle school next year. *sigh* I so love this kid. LOL Yes I love all my kids "so". Okay, the teaser??? What this wonderful "ancient Egypt" bracelet is lying on top of is a tiny fraction of Meg's TSP #2 part 2...which will NOT be done this weekend like I hoped because it has turned into one of the most difficult things I've ever made. Thankfully it's baby size! I've been making great progress on Miranda's bolero because it's just plain 'ole StSt and is a wonderful break from working a pattern. Boy am I going to be proud of this one when it's done, even if it's a tad messed up in spots. Okay, off to do some knitting since I've actually done some housework today. Peace!

Lookie!

Go on over and check out my socks on concateknits feet! I'm glad to see they fit her but I also see that since the one sock ended up a bit shorter than the other I can see it. Hopefully the stitches will slip around and adjust so that it fits better. I know with the pair I have from last sockapal2za that the more I wear the socks the better they fit. May this be the case with these. Anyway, I've made great progress on Megs TSP #2 part 2. I may even have it done this by next weekend! Amazing.

My dear anonymous sock pal,

Pink for a happy update! My socks made it to their destination and I'm so relieved! It took a freakin' week! To go from Mich to Mass! Go figure. Anyway, they did and all is good. Nancy, the 3 B's are boobs, belly and butt. See my little button on the side proclaiming me a belly girl? Yep, I'm going to try and celebrate it while I try to get rid of it at the same time LOL.

Thank you for the email letting me know that the socks are taking their time at the spa (I don't blame them lol) and I'm sure that my mail lady is thanking you also. See, I've been standing anxiously by the mailbox waiting for your precious works of art every day this weekend LOL and I'm sure she thinks I ran out of my medicine and turned into a stalker. I have no problem with them being late because I'm SURE they're worth every moment of it! I feel like a kid on Christmas eve ya know? *giggle* It's so much fun! Anyway, I'll leave her alone for a few days then. Thank you for letting me know again!

Now I just worry about why my socks haven't made it to my sock gal and it's been a week today. I do hope she gets them soon before I get an ulcer over it, the darn things took me all semester to make good golly! I could make another pair, in less time than 17 weeks, but still, it will take weeks. *sigh*

I've made good progress in Meg's TSP #2, piece 2 and have gotten both the fronts done for Miranda's bolero. Now it's on to the sleeves for that one, the biggest parts of the whole thing LOL, seeming, edging and voila! Done! I even did 6 rows on my poncho while sitting in the sun. It's just plain garter stitch and I need that when I'm almost blind from the brightness. So many things on the needles and so many things waiting (eg: yarn getting dusty) and now a couple (7) more things in line to make. LOL Don't you just LOVE being a knitter? Life is never boring. Knit On Peeps!

A box came today in the mail!

Not socks unfortunately, but the big groovy girl knits! Oh this book is sooooo goooood! I've read the whole thing, sticky noted seven things I want to make and decided when I get to the point that I can actually start another item for myself, that I'm going to start with the wrap. Boy do I like to be lifted and seperated LOL. The book is also quite funny and I busted out laughing more than few times.

Excellent, excellent, excellent book. A book that the world needs more like because the 3B's rule! So go and get yourself a copy and celebrate your dangerous girly curves! Knit the goddess back into your life!

Miranda's 4th birthday was yesterday! Can you guess the theme? I can't believe she's four already, where did the time go? I wish I could write more right now but I need to go get ready for work. I switched days with another girl and I have to be there an hour earlier. Peace.

Is it more than it was before? Nope

My blog is worth $4,516.32.
How much is your blog worth?

downers

I'm feeling a bit worried and sad today. I just checked my sock pals site and no mention of the socks so I'm worried because they haven't gotten there yet. I'm sad because the mail already came today and there weren't any socks in it for me. LOL It's so hard to wait! Can you imagine what I was like around the Christmas as a kid if I'm that bad now in my 30's? So I'll leave you with a photo my daughter took because it reminds me that beauty can be found anywhere, even in a patch of weeds. (I need to find out where in my yard this is LOL.)

Ummm, I found the camera and....

The world according to Max and Miranda. Enjoy my kids view of things. Like, why is the pineapple in the livingroom? OH! The pineapple! I got up Tuesday morning and took the kids to school and when I came back I saw that one of the boys had put our yellow kitchen sponge next to the pineapple with a clay snail. Its a really really good thing I wasn't eating anything, I'd have choked. Green thing is some weird little animal thing.
Albert looking through the screen.

We have spotted kitty belly and the neatest thing of all? The bricks that the kids built into "The Ruins" (that's the name they named them). There are about 8 such sculptures out there.
Now that my memory card isn't full (yes there were more than just these five photos on there) I have a drawing my friend Melissa made with my daughter when we went out for tea the other day. Melissa, if you are reading this I want you to know that you made a big
impression on Miranda because she wants me to invite you to her birthday party on Sunday at 4. On the way home Miranda said "she can come to my birthday party". Which is as close to asking as she gets right now. LOL so you are a BIG hit with her, just like with her mom. Man, I love my kids. Peace.

Are you curious on how I did today?

Well, you're getting an update whether you like it or not LOL. I got the big bathroom done de doney done done! I got my closet done and I cleaned the half bath and the kitchen sink LOL. I had the "get the well water crud off anything" stuff out so I decided to do the kitchen sink before tucking it away in the broom closet.

Broom Closet.... I love the way that sounds. I have a broom closet, yes, it's in the broom closet... (no I didn't run out of my medicine).

Ok, then I tried to do some Pilates but seeing as my core is as squishy as a rotten apple on the side of the road it's going to take some work to be able to even DO it LOL, but I will do it. Arrrr determination mate.

Now it's 4 pm, I need to take a shower, start dinner and I'm suposed to go to Reproductive Health preview for parents meeting. I'm thinking I'm going to blow it off since I talk to my kids about stuff like that all the time and I got them that wonderful book What's Happening To My Body or something like that. I'd link to it but Amazon doesn't seem to recognize that title as the book I am thinking about. If I remember I'll ask my oldest what the title is.

Well anyway, first of four nights off and I'm geeked because by damn I'm going to get some knitting done (after we go for ice cream of course LOL). The camera is once again MIA so I hopefully will have some photos to entertain you tomorrow. Peace!

Grades are up!

I got a B in Physics and Statistics and I got an A in psychology. YEAH and hot damn! I'm off work for four blissful days. Ok, the first day or two will not be so blissful because I'm gonna tear into this house, yes I am! booo ya! I may even embarrass myself and post before and after photos. I have a most wonderful friend who I met online. She's a professional organizer and her book, her chats and her friendship have TOTALLY, and I mean it, changed my life and the way I do "home keeping". Please go "meet" ReginaLeeds and see what an awesome being she is. Her lessons on organizing both my house and my time play a HUGE role in how I can go to school full time, work part time, raise four kids and still be me. She started me on the road to finding out who I really am and helped me see that I was a good mom, I just needed to learn a couple of things. She is the one who helped me find the courage to find my passion and the strength to know when to go get professional help and that it's OK. I do not get to talk to her nearly enough anymore but she's always in my heart. Tomorrow I conquer my closets, all in your name Regina! You're the bestest.
