Sockapaloooza sock on foot.
Photos out of order.
Update: I got the sock done. Now hopefully Sunday I will cast on for the second.
I have to work all afternoon tomorrow so I probably
won't get a finished photo up until Sunday.

Boy oh boy

another week has gone by and I've not made a peep on the web. I've been doing stuff. I did buy yarn last friday on our "girls" yarn trip out. It was nice despite the fact that it wasn't just us girls. I HAD to buy this yarn because it had my name on it. Seriously. I will give the name of it tomorrow (I'm to dog tired from work tonight to trudge it down) but I do know it's from a series of colorways named after famous women. Can you guess what the name on my colorway is? Not spelled with a K but hey, it's close enough.... Catherine the Great. ROFL. That even shut my husband up! I've started to knit a poncho for myself with it. Grapes. Grapes are what the colorway reminds me of. I am also getting down to the last inch of the sockapalooza sock and hopefully will cast on for number two this weekend.

Today I sat out on the deck in a bathing suit top (and my pj bottoms LOL) and got a bit pink in the face. I was out there for a whole 45 minutes! Geesh. Was that weather just supreme? Could it please come again? ...and again? ...and again?

My physics midterm went so so, I got 71 out of a 100, so I passed but barely. I did do really well on the following quiz and lab. I'm hovering just inside the B range at this point.

Well, I think that's it for tonight. I seriously need to slink off to visit my pillow for a few hours. I have class in the morning but the rest of the day off so I will snap photos and feed you some eye candy. Knit on and peace.

More photos

These were taken by the kids. At least you can see that it got a lot longer than I thought it would be and hopefully you can pick out a bit of detail in it. I'll try and get a better detail shot later because once again I'm in a hurry. Meg's coming for lunch and yarn shop visiting and I have to be ready to go because she won't have a lot of time. She's so lucky to eat with me and ALL THE KIDS, plus my mom (extreme sarcasm). This was suposed to be a girlfriend thing but I forgot about the kids being out of school today and my mom is sick so I don't want to her to suffer the kids any longer than she needs to. One of these days we're going to pull off a yarn shop visit without any kids at all and lots of time. Anyway, if I manage to buy some more yarn I'll lay my guilty conscious here for all to see. Knit on girlies!

Sorry, I've been so busy lately.

A pirates work is never done matey LOL! Ok, shawl update? Shawl done! One Shoal Water shawl from Fiber Trends done in a nubby rayon yarn from Blue Heron Yarns. Not quite as big as I would have liked and stretched taunt as hell there on the floor. Hopefully it will remain very close to the size I forced it to. So TA DA! Now, does anyone have any ideas of what I should wear it with and where I should wear it too, and explain to me why that's two shawls made and one more to finish? LOL And why do I keep making them if I don't know where to wear them? It's pretty though, isn't it? Stretched out the center back is
approximately 42 inches. That's not too bad. Hopefully I will get a photo of
me with it later this weekend. ((hugs))

You're 60% Irish

You're very Irish, and most likely from Ireland.

Just so you know I'm still kicking, I mean knitting....

My pirate name is:
Red Charity Vane
Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

What a week I've had. (not much knitting in this one)

Does anyone do horoscopes because I must have been in some freaky retrograde Mercury running into Mars Moon alignment or something. It's been one extreme to the next in everything. I had my three midterms, Statistics and Psychology I'm sure I got A's on. The Physics? I'm going to celebrate if I passed it. This teacher is just not a good teacher for me. She's snotty, disrespectful, can't come down to our level and expects us to do WAY too much math. The way to much math part came from the Science Chair! Yes, it's so bad I talked to the Chairman. Next would be the Dean. I have to have a C in this class or I can't graduate and I'm seriously, seriously, seriously worried. ARGH! May I never be like this when I'm teaching.... LOL but that's impossible because I'm not like that at all now and I'm way more emotional and well, I'll remember.

On a good note, I stood up to a creepy guy at school after he touched me. Instead of saying sorry when I confronted him and told him to never touch me again he tried to turn it around on me! LOL yeah whatever psycho man.

I also realized that my totem/power animal is the Redtailed Hawk. I think I've always known that but now I'm sure of it. Ladybugs seem to be another that permeates my life as well. Two rather nice ones from the little research I've done. I also told my mom when she moved in with us that a few years ago I chose to follow an Earth based religion. LOL Here I was, so very worried about what she'd say or how she'd react and she said "is that all? I thought it was something big!" My reply is it is big to me. It's so freeing.

I'm so excited, two days of having nothing to do but knit, work, and do laundry. Oh and maybe read too. I'll post some photo updates later on. Like Sunday, for sockapaloooza update time. I also bought some yarn but alas, I can't post it because it's for a TSP and I don't want the person to see it. Have a great weekend and may you knot a lot of yarn!

Socks, socks and socks.

Finished socks, kind of finished socks and well, not finished. All singles and need a mate but hey, it'll happen. (Lets just hope that I can remember how many stitches are in each one eh?) So first up is the sockapalOOOza sock that is well on it's way down the foot and the pattern is so much nicer than I expected which of course gives me extreme joy (and relief). I turned the heel on the sockatta sock for my DS#2 and the black and purple sock is finished for my DS #3. I'm going to finish the sockapalOOOza socks before I do the mates for these. Tomorrow I'm taking the black hole of a sweater for my oldest son to work on as a break to the socks. It's black, it's kind of boring and it's big. So here's my update. I may not get around to anymore this week because I have a test in each class this week. (Shot me now.) Just wanted to let you know just in case I do disappear. Have a great week and keep knitting!

Stuff On My Cat = a must see!

This site is the bomb! OMG I wonder how many bandaids went into these photos, hell, how much catnip! Stuff On My Cat is the site to see. But if you don't have time I'll give you four of the ones that had me almost spitting my pop all over the screen.

I'm going to leave them as links so you'll be surprised when you see them. I'm going to have to go back during the daylight hours and check back farther in the archives. Enjoy! Oh! I got one black/purple sock done today. Yeah! Knit On!
