boy oh boy

Lets see, I have a few things I need to take photos of, say thanks for, and brag about but right now it can't be done. I'm getting rather busy with school now that it's in full swing and today? After getting a ton of snow that made the highways almost undrivable? My youngest darling boy has an ear infection.... one that wasn't all that bad yesterday but today decided to bust his eardrum, repeatedly, and drain blood. Yes, I woke up to find his ear bleeding. Not something a mother wants to see. Went to the doc's and he described his eardrum as looking like a pimple that was about to explode because it was so pushed out by the fluid. Ok, I know it's getting gross and I'll stop now but he's a sick little critter and I'm frazzled. So HOPEFULLY I will be able to get a photo post up Thursday, HOPEFULLY! Bear with me while my life takes me on another ride. Peace!

Deep breath - knitting content ahead!

Ok, you can see them in action over at Holly's blog!
First, all I'm going to say about the first and second one is that they are little house warming gifts. I'll tell more tomorrow.
Now this beautiful item below, in the most delightful of colors is a purse that was a TSP from Meg of the TSP Meg. It was a secret and it was a surprise and it's gorgeous!
Here's a slightly blurry photo of the whole purse being held up by a Windex bottle because it was close and the right height. I used it tonight when I went to get something from work Meg! It's the perfect size for my wallet, keys and phone. Thank you so much! It feels wonderful around my wrist and in my hands! She also got be a bag of my favorite tea!
If my friends keep this up I don't know what I'm going to do! *sigh* I feel so loved. Thanks again Meg, the purse and the tea are both yummy, in their own way!

hurry up

and wait! I hate this game before work. I should be studying and reading and crap but I don't want to anymore today and I have to be at work at 6 and it's 4:45 right now and I'm ready to go and can't really get into doing anything. I could go to work and just "hang around" but who in hell wants to do that??? I don't even have any cool photos to share.
Karl took the kids into Plymouth to see the ice sculptures today so I'm here all by myself too! How pathetic can it get? Ok, I'm going to go check out my pre-lab for Historical Geology lab Monday night. That at least won't suck me in too deep. Grrr, hope everyone else enjoys their Saturday night because I won't.

Ok, back to the grind after a very long weekend. Kids had a snow day yesterday because of the ice. Karl had to take the afternoon off to watch the kids since my mom had a medical procedure that kept her from driving. Can you believe the butthead sat here all afternoon and almost finished the puzzle we were working on??? While I was a Chem Lab trying to figure out this damn prelab computer program they have he was here plunking away. *sigh* I think he had more fun. I have to go figure out what to take with me now (knitting wise since my MP3 willy warmer like bag is done) and get the next two kids up. Have a great day! Peace.

went and saw Eragon today

But first, here's my MP3 player bag that kind of looks like a sad willy warmer and needs a button. LOL, but hey, my earphone cord should be kept nice now.

Woke to find an icy winter wonderland today. It's simply beautiful outside, especiallly since the roads are A-OK.

Ok, on to Eragon. Excellent movie! If you go into it knowing that the movie won't be as good as the books (which rock by the way) then you're really going to love this one. Murtagh, Garrett Hedlund, played Patroclus in Troy with Brad Pitt. Normally a really nice looking kid, as Murtagh? Holy sheep shit I want. Kind of like Orlando Bloom, nice looking normally, but as Legolas? Damn. Yeah, I've got a new crush. Ok. Lights are flickering so I'm going to post this just in case the ice takes the power out. Peace!

It's just not fair!

I have strep throat again! I would have to say it was my husbands fault this time for reinfecting me the butthead. I don't know what I've done recently but boy have I been having strange happenings!

Wednesday I got up an hour late again and had to drive my oldest to school. After getting the next two off on the bus I broke a little hand mirror I use to paint my face with. Then I get DD to school and get myself to school. After driving around for almost an hour I finally got a parking spot in the deck on the top floor!

I get out of the car and look in. There on the floor is one of my gloves. It's cold, I want my glove so I start fishing through my carrier bag for my keys. Can't find them. Cell phone starts to beep low battery at me. I take everything out of my bag and lay it out on the trunk because I can't see my keys IN the car. I can't find them so I text DH about it. Talk to him for a few minutes deciding how we're going to get my car unlocked and when.

So I go into the library get a coffee and spill it all down my arm and get my zipper stuck down at the bottom of my coat. I walk to the building where my class is with my coat wide open andone glove on and sit down and spill my coffee on the floor (not the whole thing). I get my coat undone and go to get my MP3 player out of my bag and set my wallet aside, then set my keys aside, then set.... wait. Keys? Right on top of everything??? WTF? So I text Karl that the aliens brought my keys back and I am ok now. See, they were distracting me so they could abduct my keys and once they were done they gave them back unharmed. The rest of the day? Went smooth as silk.

Now I'm sick, again, but if I remember correctly I had strep twice in a row last year also so I shouldn't be too surprised, which I'm not since it's my lot in life to get it. Big question? When will I be able to get to the doctors? I think I will see if I can call him at home and just have him call in a prescription since DH just got his filled last night. *sigh* Ain't it grand? Ooooh I do have knitting news to share! I'm now knitting, with left over sock yarn, a little holder for my MP3 player because I'm really sick of the earplug cords getting all tied up. I'll post a photo later today because right now, it's 3:18 am and the Ibruprofen is starting to work. Maybe I can get more sleep yet. Peace buddies!

WHAT A DAY!!!!

Ok, my first day at school just totally rocked my world! My first class I had to drop because it was for elementary teachers and I'm secondary and I got into another PE class to fulfill my phy ed requirement. So instead of having to be at school at 10 I don't start until 12. That's my second class, chemistry, the one that I think I'm going to go get a tutor for right away. Then I have world history with the wackiest man I've meet so far and his first impression is good, I hope it lasts and this may be a great class. THEN I have the new Phy Ed class followed by my historical geology class.... I could just wet myself! What a wonderful class/lab to finish the day with! Besides this guy who I know well is in the class also and boy it was a nice surprise to see him walk in! Smart too! He's just the kind of man you want to sit next to LOL. No smarty comments, he's old enough to be my dad or maybe even my grandfather. I also ran into a few people I met last semester and met a few new ones too!

Ok, as if THAT wasn't the bestest day I came home to a box! I was jokingly whining to one of those friends from last semester today about how I never get a package in the mail unless I order something. Suz, you, you, ohhhhhh..... I don't know if I should yell at you or not! LOL I can NOT believe you made those mittens for me!!!! They match my fuzzy jacket so beautifully too! A box of super unbelievable yummy chocolate and a Yarn Harlot book! I could just cry! You made me feel so special and after the weekend I had, it means even more! Thank you Suz, you are truly one of the most wonderful friends I have and I'm so blessed! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

This is what was in the box!

Look how good they look with my fuzzy jacket! Oh they are the spiffiest! They are well done and fit beautifully and comfy! I'm very very impressed with how well knit they are because none, and I mean none, of the yarn inside pull or are too tight or too loose. I'm such a styling babe now!
Anyway, I'm going to take my giddy self away to do some reading now. Thank you again Suz, they really are awesome! Peace!

Funk's kind of over

Goodness I love my Prozac. Maybe, if it won't bore all of you too damn much I may just talk a bit of weight loss but it also scares me to no end because I've failed so many times already. Yeah, I know, whine whine whine, I'm not the only one. We'll see. I just wanted to say thank you for the hugs and love, I really needed it. I'll try and post tomorrow with a few "did it change since last time" photos since classes start Monday. Boy how THAT fills me with anxiety and at the same damn time a world of excitement! I truly love going to college, it rocks, I love expanding my brain... *sigh*. Peace peeps! Love ya back ya know!

Thoughts and Ponderings

I want to lose weight, 50 pounds. Thinking about starting a second blog for it. Dreading classes starting on Monday. Worried about the house payments (yes that's multiple, we're late). Got a cold, not fair while being on antibiotics for the strep. Feeling sad. Don't want to knit. Don't want to clean. Don't want to make dinner. Boy, I'm in a funk eh? Maybe I had better go take my meds and clean the kitchen. I did do 3 rounds on my DH's Marquette socks today and there ya go. It would be one of those photos that would make you ask if it was truly longer than the last time you saw it. Oh I foresee this blog getting really boring soon. *sigh* I'll feel better tomorrow.

Better late than never.

Opening gifts.
LOL Like I needed a body shot. Look, I'm seeing double! I didn't see it until now that his photo is showing in his photo.
You know that Carnival Cruise commercial about finding the elusive smile on the daughter and as fast as it shows up it's gone? That's this kid. He's actually smiling because he got this rockin' awesome Godzilla set. That's Mothra he's holding up. I LOVE Godzilla movies, he loves Godzilla movies, we all love Godzilla movies! Honestly? It's the two of us who love them so much.
Oooh Santa was sooooooo good to me this year!
And the fun goes on! This was New Years Eve and #2 decided to use oven mits, my Santa hat and a Meijer bag taped to his face to dress up as Santa. My kids are so weird and I'd have them no other way. Now I'm off to upload them to the Kodak site for the grands.

I went through my "stash" (if you want to call it that) and I have enough to keep me busy for 9 months with school. Plus I'm in the Socks that Rock Club this year so I will be getting small doses of yarn through that. I signed up for this two months ago so even though I had to pay for it today it doesn't technically count. My list is a long one of things I have in the queue plus an unbelievable amount of bits and pieces that may have to be made into a funky free form blanket or something, you know, crazy quilt style, but that's a LONG way off so please don't hold your breath. I have four projects going now that are "long term" items so I may not have much to post except posts that read a bit like "hey, look, it's a inch longer than last week". They will be worth it in the end though. Ha, now if I can manage to motivate myself enough to loose some weight along with the yarn. Have a great week! Peace.
2006 Finished Project List: *socks for mom *boogie time watch band * socks for MIL * Socks for FIL * Socks for DS #1 *Socks for DD *Shoal Water Shawl *Sockapaloooza Socks *Meg's TSP #2 * * socks for DS #2 * socks for DS #3 *Purple Bolero * Pink Baby Bolero w/ matching hat * Tan Baby Sweater * calculator cozy * 6 urban skullcaps * crochet ruffle hat*

Last years New Years Post

1. What new knitting techniques did you learn this year? How do make socks: gussets, heel turning, all those kind of sock things. ROFL, I think I did that pretty darn well eh? 2007? Fair Isle is the thing.

2. Which completed project from the last 12 months are you most proud of? I think I’ll have to go with the Double Helix scarf for the Megster. The Shoal Water Shawl or the Tan Baby Sweater for 2006.

3. What was your biggest knitting disaster of the last year? I didn’t have one thankfully, or at least one I remember LOL. Ditto for 2006.

4. Who or what has been the biggest influence on your knitting in 2005? Mostly magazines and The Knitting Guild of America. Hummmm, I don’t think I’ve had one for 2006... NO, you all have been my inspiration.

5. What knit craze grabbed you this year? Socks? Were they a craze this year? No? Ok, that would have to be lace this year I think, but is there really a “craze” in knitting?

6. Finally, some New Year's resolutions. I’m not sure what goals I want to set yet other than getting on the treadmill more and getting off sugar and caffeine. Hee hee, I totally didn’t do any of that! Resolutions for 2007? I’d like to get better grades and “remodeling” the backyard. That requires tearing down two sheds, building a new bigger one and a whole lotta landscaping. Of course there is the typical lose weight and such…
